Rust in the coolant resivour

I have noticed there is rust in the coolant resivour. Any ideas thanks.

the car is a 2003 Ford Focus 1.8 tdci

Wrong anti-freeze.

Get it drained down, flushed out really well, and refill with proper Ford pink/orange antifreeze, which is supposed to last the life of the car.

(Anti-freeze is vital as an anti-corrosion measure)

dont use tap water aswell , use de - ionised water in the mix

That's a very good point, and often overlooked, even by those in the trade, who should know better
