Which exhaust to get ?

Featured Replies

I want to get exhaust for my st150 in future couple weeks month maybe, not sure which to go for I quite like this sound it state its cobra exhaust but is it full or just rhe cat back check video souns so nice I dont want something that will kill my ears specially on motorway

The Cobra in that video sounds a bit 'tinny' & 'crackly' to me,I've got a saved search on eBay for a Miltek exhaust for my Zetec S,they're not cheap but I've found that you get what you pay for with exhausts.

I've come from cars with V8 & straight 6 engines & prefer a deep throat 'rumble' sound (not too anti-social!)  so maybe have a look on YouTube or search the modification section; http://www.fordownersclub.com/forums/forum/90-ford-modification-discussions/

I like that sound as well but miltek doss not sound like thT they sound like bike lol

This is the noise K want '!! So nice

I've got the de-res Milltek catback on my ST150.  Even with the original downpipe and cat it sounds amazing - honestly the best sounding petrol I've had!!

The rasp under load is fantastic but you can't catch that on a video, and it often pops on over-run as well as an overall 'nice' note.  It's not at all boomy or drony on the motorway unlike the other petrol exhausts I've had previously which is a huge bonus.

Have you thought about getting a quote for a custom system? Give Infinity Exhausts a call just booked my Zetec s black edition in for a cat back system. They build what you want and can sort out the sound to whatever you want (I hate the drone when driving normally but love the noise when you out your foot down).

They have a lifetime warranty on any system you order as well.

That link isn't working for me, looks like it should be the right one though.  The Milltek part number is SSXFD018

Might be the quality of the recording equipment or the upload etc, lots of factors to consider when watching a video uploaded by some bloke using a mobile.

Yeah that's it.  Here's the video, it doesn't really do it justice as the microphone cant cope with engine noise and exhaust noise but you get the idea.

Sweet! Sound so good its quite on motorway?

Depends on your motorway speed lol!

Cruising at 70-80mph there's far more road and wind noise than exhaust noise.  Plus I've specifically kept the standard air intake system, and just added a panel filter rather than a cone to keep the cruising noise down.

Where the hell is air filter not sure if to buy induction kit or kn panel filter

Lol, the airbox is the thing that looks like an engine cover with loads of torx bolts.  There's a tiny square filter in there.

Personally I like the sound with the resonators in the standard system, and it's quieter on the motorway so I went with a pipercross panel filter.

Other people prefer a cone though so it's personal preference.

I am going to check that out on my day off, did the pipercross panel filter change the noise ?

I think it did a bit bit might be placebo effect.  It's nothing like a cone obviously.
