Gearbox problem

I noticed my reverse when I try put it in ir scrapes, even if I put it in slowly could it be sign of gearbox going ? Car have 66k st150

Nope, perfectly normal unfortunately.  If you can be bothered to hold the clutch down for a few seconds before shifting to reverse it might crunch a bit less, but that's just how these gearboxes are tbh.

Yeah just typical Ford 5 speed. No synchro on reverse.

They still fit the same box to current Fiesta and Foci.

I have to admit it's the one thing I prefer now I've got a 6 speed gearbox, the reverse gear is up next to 1st-  therefore eliminating that scraping gear change. Back with old cars I had it pop out of gear once or twice when it obviously wasn't in properly as well! Not fun when I'm in the middle of the road aiming for my 45° driveway

try double clutching if you want to stop the crunch going in to reverse gear

Yup same here,it's annoying but also try to let the revs die down to tickover.

yes, really.

, read the owners manual and it explains the procedure to engage reverse.
