Semi auto to full auto conversions

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

right I drive. 1.4 semi auto mk6 fiesta but as of lately I've been having gearbox problems and can't really afford the stupidly high prices Ford charge to keep gettin it fixed.

So a friend said in joking why don't I ditch the semi box(effectively a manual with 2 actuators that change the gears an dip the clutch) and install a full automatic transmission.

now my question is would this be a possible thing since the engines on the 1.4 an 1.6 are as far as I'm aware the same other than displacement, so a 1.6 full auto box should in theory fit onto a 1.4 engine.

any advice would be greatly appreciated 👍🏻👍🏻
