i saw in the wilkos car section they had redx petrol cleaner if that what it was something along them lines anyway, what are the advantages of this when you put it in before or after you fill up does it make the car run better by cleaning it out then why not do it

It clears the varnish from the fuel lines, injectors etc. Some people swear by it, others 'poo poo' it. Fifth gear did a program ages ago using a VW to see if they could get the bhp back up and the best bhp gain was claimed back by using redex.

It would depend on how the car was run previously, if it has higher mileage with shorter trips using cheaper fuel its worth putting some in the system initially, but after that it doesn't really give much extra. I have used it a few times on various cars and found that it did clear out the system and the car felt slightly more responsive however no further improvements after that - just use decent fuel (which have extra detergents in).

yeah iv had the car 4 months now and only just started to use shell, im guessing the previous owner would have used supermarket fuel, i think ill give it a go but just one bottle to clear it out as i dont think ill be using supermarket fuel anymore, only if its necessary
