As per title. Daughter's 58 plate 1.4 diesel Fiesta has recently become a bit sluggish to start even with waiting for heating plug light to go out and repeating. I'm no diesel expert(petrol engines I kinda understand but diesel is black magic!) so I'm guessing heater plugs are on the way out? She doesn't do a lot of miles, mainly back and forth to work(2 miles) with the occasional 15 mile run out in the country.

 

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. 

Battery is probably on the way out with that sort of driving.

I'll be amazed if it needs glowplugs in the 25-30c temps we're having atm!

Cheers Tom, thinking about it, it could quite easily be the battery right enough! A/C on the whole time as well won't be doing it any favours. 

 

I'll maybe give it a charge and see if that makes a difference. 

I have 2 diesels and I know when they are sluggish to start that the main culprit is the battery. Once a new battery is put on they are much easier to start.
