lloydyyy
My Fiesta Mk6 1.25 petrol is due a service in December. I was looking through the Haynes manual last night and noticed a recommendation to check and adjust the valve clearances. I can't remember the interval but my Fiesta is due. The engine runs smooth and sweet. Should I check the valve clearances anyway? I've not done it before; is it a difficult task? Should I perhaps take the car to a garage instead for this one job? iantt
I would leave well alone. time consuming and expensive if adjustment required. clearances shouldn't change much over the lifetime of the engine

Ad@m
This a a task not worth doing unless you can follow it up and adjust the clearances. If you have a high mileage vehicle (eg 80K+) then it can be beneficial to check / adjust the clearances.
iantt
there shims so timing belt off , cams out. major work. you can check them if you want by removing the cam cover and checking clearances
