aftermarket radio fiesta mk7.5

Featured Replies

been looking for an aftermarket radio system for about a year now but with how difficult it is to get an aftermarket radio to integrate with the vehicle i haven't done it so far. it now appears that with a datalink module and cable you can now replace the radio but keep sync working and change vehicle settings using the new radio.im thinking of getting the following ice system for my fiesta

idatalink

facia plate/kit

what do people think. is this going to work?

things still to answer befour i go ahead:

is the idatalink compatible with the uk version of sync?

if i don't purchase the idatalink module will the dash screen work for the parking sensors and rear view camera?

is the facia plate available in gloss black like the rest of centre console?

if not will matt? black look out of place

I changed my stereo a good few months ago and went with a Connects 2 adaptor which allowed me to use the steering wheel controls with my stereo and still hear the audible beeps from my factory front and rear parking sensors.

As for the reverse camera I am not sure if that device allows you to keep it, I just re wired my factory reverse camera into my stereo and its worked great. It seems that we are really limited with aftermarket adaptors for the fiesta as I have lost the small display screen but gained an Alpine 8 inch media centre.

Also, I think the aftermarket fascia kit is just way to angular and really doesn't suit the interior of the Fiesta.

I'm curious to know what you don't like about the manufacturer fitted radio?

Granted, I have the Sony one, but I have heard in some reports that it's not significantly better than the standard Ford one.  And yet I find the sound quality to be pretty decent.  And it has all the connectivity options I could want for the foreseeable.

in no particular order:

small none touch screen

no satnav

too many buttons

android auto would be nice to have

an internet connection would be nice to have

applink very few apps supported and spotify the only one i use chooses when it works

the only positives of the system bluetooth calling works well and audio quality is good

Got any pictures of the finished install?
