MK6 Ford Fiesta Clutching Issue

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone on here could help with a clutch/gear issue that I have with my 2004 Ford Fiesta Style, 1.25, manual.

I have owned the car since March of this year and she has never missed a beat until yesterday.

It seems the clutch is slipping when I change up into 2nd or 3rd gear. The revs go up as I change to either 2nd or 3rd.

I have owned many a car where the clutch has started to go, with first signs being that the clutch pedal is high, but this feels different as my clutch pedal is very good, ie biting point is almost as soon as pedal is released. There is also not the usual clutch burning smell that you normally get.

Its so weird, as would like to think its not the clutch thats slipping as the cars only done 84K.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what the issue could be, would appreciate any help.

Thanks
