Focus 2.0TDCI 2010 Noise After Remap.

Featured Replies

Hi,

New here, hello!

I have recently had my focus remapped by Angel Tuning to around 160bhp from 136bhp. And an increase in torque, which I had him limit from coming in gradually between 2-2.5k rpm to save the clutch and gearbox getting hammered. Also had the EGR valve deleted.

Now, car is 110% better to drive, quicker, smoother and quieter.

However, when I am giving it some beans, in 3rd at around 3k rpm I get a short sharp squeal, this happens again in 4th and 5th when around this rev range. This is only under load, and hard acceleration. Driving normally, there is no squeal.

Has anyone with this car and a remap had the same issue? I'm assuming it is some sort of boost leak from somewhere due to running more boost?

Any input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

squeal tends to be around a belt, or bearing?
