How long for suspension bed in?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Due to a snapped spring a few months ago I have refreshed my suspension with new shocks, springs (rated for the tdci spring rate) as well as top mounts. The ride quality seems to be fairly firm at the moment, although I know that the previous shocks were quite old and was looking to swap them out anyway. I just wanted to know how long it would be until the ride settles down a bit and becomes slightly softer or will the car now always have the slightly harder ride quality as it was how the car was meant to be as OEM?

Ride will be as the shocks are now, the ride will get softer as they wear out.

That's what I kinda figured, if anyone needs uprated stiffer springs on the lighter petrol models go with the OEM 1.4 TDCi springs!
