Brakes making grinding noise

Featured Replies

I bought my 05 Fiesta just over two weeks ago, however a grinding noise emits from the front of the car whenever the brakes are applied. I checked the receipts left in the glove box and the pads were replaced last November, so that kinda rules the pads out. Anyone have any ideas? I was thinking it could be a stone stuck in between the pad and the disk.

only way you can tell is to take the wheel off and have a good look at the pad

does it tell you the milage when they were done?

Also a stone would score the disks.. so worth checking that too

An even easier way is if you have alloys, look how far the caliper is away from the inside of the alloy, it's a rough guess but obviously the closer they are to the alloy the more material u have left on the pad!

best bet, just whip the wheel off and look!
