Ford Fiesta Style Climate D 2008 1.4 Tdci Emergency Brake issue.

Featured Replies

Hi and thanks for looking.

Basically I parked my car up a few days ago and pulled the e brake, as I did so the lever suddenly pulled all the way up further than what it usually does.

I had a look today by unclipping the housing around the e brake and assumed the e brakr adjustment nut must have slid up the threads when I pulled the brake. I have retightened it but not fully and it takes about 6 - 7 clicks to engage the e brake, however now that I think about it could the nut or thread be damaged.

I haven't examined it yet but would this require a whole new brake assembly or can the nut and thread assembly (or whatever its called) just be replaced.

Thanks for any help.
