focus 2013 1.6tdci clutch common fault?

Featured Replies

Hi all

I'm new to the forum but need a bit of help/advice.

I'm looking to buy a 2013 focus zetec s 1.6tdci on Saturday but have come across a lot of posts online about clutch slave cylinder problems on this engine.

Is this something I need to be concerned about with a car of this year? it's done 48000 miles and as I say is a 2013 model.

how would I know if there is an issue with the clutch on this particular car? so far iv found that I need to look at the bottoman of the bell housing for clutch fluid leakage. also the clutch pedal would be spongey.

Would it be very noticeable if there was a problem or could go un noticed?

hope someone can help as I really like the car but don't want to be stung with a big bill!

many thanks in advance.

Adi
