Has anyone had a detatcable tow at fitted. I've contacted some companies but they are saying the wiring kit is still in development. The dealer quoted me nearly £900. Which I thought was a bit steep.

Go to a tow bar fitters see what they  quote that's to steep

Hello

My car hasn't arrived yet but I specced the detachable tow bar. Does this not include electrics?

Have you towed with yours ? ours makes some worrying creaking noises when towing our caravan

That's not good- the only reason I've brought the car is to tow our caravan with!

No not yet end of March will be the first time with our Caravan

Had it back twice to two separate dealers who cant see anything wrong but its still doing it. Seems only to be when traveling slowly ?

Could I make a possible solution to this noise.. if you have a newish caravan with the alko brake pads in the hitch, the paint on the new towbar could be contaminating the pads. Use wire wool to clean the paint/grease etc off the ball and clean the pads with alcohol and see if that works. I've had this creaking on my Kugas when I've forgot to clean the ball.

Hi All, My edge came with a factory fitted tow bar and up to now had no problems with it, On another note, watched practical caravan tv on monday and they did a test on the new edge towing a caravan and they were not overly impressed with it. Each to there own as i find my edge great to tow with.

Spoke to Wandahome about a service yesterday and mentioned it to the Manager who also suggested the Alko Pads. Doesn`t sound like its coming from there but it could be as its hard to pinpoint. The towbar seems to be a cast piece with no paint on it but i will clean both up with wire wool and alcohol and see how it goes on next weeks outing.
