Kuga 2010 cold start problem

Hi please help I have a 2010 kuga tdci 140 problem is when I is very cold mornings car will start but will not idle just cuts out, after keeping foot on accelerator for 5 mins it will then idle and run fine for rest of day any morning when it's not freezing it starts fine

Check the glowplug fuse, and then test the glowplugs. These common rail diesels will often fire up ok without plugs, but will then idle very rough, or stall, until the head warms up a bit. Below about 5C seems to be bad for this.

My 1.8 is rough & smokey for a minute after a freezing start, I have found one (maybe 2) plugs are faulty. Got replacements on order.

To test the plugs, they will probably need to be disconnected from the wiring, and each should register just about short circuit (under 1 ohm) on a multimeter.
