Exhaust system and dump valve

Featured Replies

I have just bought a 65 plate Ford Focus ecoboost ( 1.0 litre ). I can slightly hear the dump valve and I am now looking into getting a new exhaust system to give a nice sound to the car and I would also like to hear the dump valve more , how would I go about this ?

Are you sure you can hear the BOV? I thought it was an internal silent one on the 1.0
There are aftermarket BOVs but the 1.0 doesn't create a great deal of boost to get a decent 'dump' so you may be best going for an electronic dump valve.

1.0 doesn't have a dump valve/BOV.

It's a re-circ and if you replace it with vent to atmosphere you are just wasting air pressure.

If you want a bit more induction noise (not just chav tsh), check to see if the snorkel is fitted under the panel around the bonnet latch - if it is, you can safely remove it, The ST comes without it.
