Mk 2.5 computer stays illuminated

Featured Replies

Hi,

The computer on my son's 2008 Mk 2.5 1.8 TDCi Zetec Estate has suddenly started staying illuminated when the key is out of the ignition and the car is locked.  The computer shows "No messages available" in the Messages function and the central locking, lights, etc. all work fine.  The alarm LED blinks as normal.

Any ideas what is up with it and how to correct it?

Thanks

Simon

Now that my son has decided to RTFM, rather than just say that he's checked it, he's found that it states; "Note: The information display will remain on for several minutes after you switch off the ignition."

Problem solved; it goes off by itself.  If you wait long enough...

Oh, well, lesson learned; check that he has actually read it in future.

The info display in my car stays on for about 15 to 20 minutes after I lock the car, as the Manual says its normal. When I got the car two years ago I was wondering the same thing.
