just received a new bonnet lock from china .i matched the key for the lock put lock all together .just been out and put it on the car checked the lock was moving .so shut the bonnet and now the bonnet wont open . any ideas need to sort asap

Mine did something similar a while back. The plastic safety clip that joins the bowden cable to the actual lock mechanism had failed.. 3 quid part from ford but i was lucky and realised before the bonnet was fully shut. Think there is a guide on here bout how to open the bonnet if its stuck shut

this is a brand new lock .whole lot is new ive even put in a longer plus piece so it doesn't separate

Tried pushing down on the bonnet whilst turning the key incase there is a bit too much spring pressure on the lock?

yep tried that .so ***** of with such a useless way fords come up with to open the bonnet

i managed to open the bonnet .ive worked out that when i turn the key that the cable doesnt have enough strenght to turn the lock to open it .

any ideas before i get another one. if i turn the whole key lock and cable it works
