Immobiliser fault

Featured Replies

Hi,  I'm new to the forum.

I will outline why I'm asking for help with the immobiliser as I don't want anyone to think I'm out to steal cars.

Basically, my elderly next door neighbour died last year, his 2003 1.6 focus has been sat on the drive since. The house was being cleared by his family but they couldn't start the car.  I diagnosed it as a immobiliser fault. They were going to scrap it as they needed off the driveway. I offered to buy it and it's now on my drive. I have all paperwork, two huge files of history the remote key and the black key.

The starter battery was showing just over 6V. I have replaced battery.

Immobiliser doesn't see either key.

It's not worth very much, so getting taken to local Ford dealer isn't worth it.

So, is there a way of bypassing the immobiliser inside the Ecu? I know this can be done on VWs that are  a little older.

Or, if was to buy 2nd hand parts what would I need. Transponder, immobiliser ring and box, Ecu, clocks etc?

Any suggestions will be very much appreciated. By PM, if you'd prefer not to post on an open forum.

Thanks

Tom

Just checked. There isn't a transponder in the black key.

Any help please?

My intention is to repair and sell the car. I am covering purchase price, repair costs, Mot etc. The total sale price will be donated to charity in aid of the Syrian people. Most likely the Red Cross.
