Reverse park pilot display won't go!

My 2012 1.6 ecoboost has developed an error when I go into reverse - the park pilot comes up on the display as normal, but when I come out of reverse, the park pilot display stays there, stopping me from being able to navigate the radio or anything like that. The display issue doesn't resolve until I turn off the engine, lock the door and wait a couple of minutes, but it happens the next time I go into reverse. I've plugged in a fault code reader but it isn't picking up any codes. Can anyone advise?
