Coding a New Key - Ford Focus MK2

Featured Replies

I have a Ford Focus 1.4 Sport from 2006 and have recently bought a new remote key online and have had the key blade cut and programmed it myself for remote central unlocking. However when it comes to trying to start the car, it does not start. I see the immobiliser light flash rapidly and on a few occasions the car attempts to start as I hear the starter motor but the car does not start.

I have the two original keys - one remote and a spare key. I have been given quotes to code the key to the immobiliser upwards of £80.

Any help is greatly appreciated.
