Focus mk 2.5 fuel pump problems

Featured Replies

Hi everyone

I have a 57 plate mk2.5 diesel focus that has what was diagnosed as fuel pump failure. My uncle managed to get a fuel pump from a mk1 focus that looks identical apart from the part number. Whilst removing it he also removed the FPDM from under the rear seat. When we tried the pump on my car it didn't work so we then tried to locate the FPDM which wasn't under the back seat. Someone said it was under the passenger seat so i looked there but no joy. I then tried to follow the wires back from the fuel pump which led under the drivers seat but no FPDM! Also have looked in the boot. From the fuse layout i had (the proper mk2.5 one NOT the one in the manual!!!) we can't see any sort of relay relating to the fuel pump? When the car died i heard a slight click just before that sounded a bit like a relay.

Anyone else had a similar problem?

Cheers
