nazsky786
Is it possible to use a Smax cluster the one with the big colour screen for the mk2 focus? I know the mk3 focus cluster don't work as on the mk2 the cluster is part of the pats. Do the smax use the cluster in the same way or is it different? If not anyone got a petrol mk2.5 cluster with the big screen?

If not anyone got a petrol mk2.5 cluster with the big screen? I very much doubt it . I upgraded from level 2 to to level 3 ( big screen version). But i found one exact one for my car & engine size. A deisel one wont work either. I did pay nearly £300 for mine but came with ecu & key which i didnt need. Btw my car is mk 2.5 Titanium ot mk2 & keyless keyfree. I bought one wirh very low mileage. These are very very hard to find.even now .i bought mine 3 - 4 years ago.You also need to enable thru say ids or ucds or even fords to get it to communicate with ecu & transfer all your existing data like mileage etc. This is mine. Please note it wont be plug & play. Yunii Sent from my SM-G925F using Tapatalk
JW1982
A Mondeo or S-max/galaxy instrument cluster will not work in a Focus MK2/MK2.5. It is not even on the same speed CANbus network. the Focus MK2/MK2.5 instrument cluster communicates over the HS (High Speed) CANbus network. The Mondeo and S-max/Galaxy instrument cluster communicates over the MS (Mid Speed) CANbus network.
nazsky786
It's best to stick the the mk2.5 cluster with big screen but is it possible to make it colour or even the black with white text? Like on Audi but prefer the colour. Does anyone have a picture of one taken apart and pics of connectors. Might not be as easy as to just swap screen. vibeone
I asked a similar question a long time ago, and someone - maybe JW - replied along the same lines. They may look the same, but there is very little in common between them.
nazsky786
Its more compatible with the Mondeo. I just that I would like the bigger screen, hard to find as stated but would prefer the black with white text, or at least some colour. Had seen a picture of someone having actually done it but can find the pic. once i do i will upload it for all to see.
Dee_82
the mondy operates on a different CAN as well, if you want the bigger screen, you need to find a Focus with the larger screen, id love it but the cost of getting that IC then having it programed is a huge expense for minimal gain.
