Ford Sync 63 Plate Titanium USB Issues

Featured Replies

I recently bought a Focus Titanium 2014 (63 plate) and having major issues every time i go through a ignition cycle, the stereo completely failed to recognise the USB device (ipod 7th generation conncted).. Ive found the only way for it to see the USB device is to fll the damn fuse and wait a few minutes, then when i switch the ignition back on i get USB initialising and it works again.

I cant keep pulling to damn fuse every time i get in the car just to use the USB function but as far as im aware there are no firmware updates available from the UK Ford website and the US/India site has now been locked down for you getting the necessary update files to do this yourself.

Can anyone advise if theres something i can do as the car isnt bought via Ford so its just a standard RAC warranty on the car and i ahve the feeling if i book the car in for a diagnostic on the NAV/Stereo system im not only gonna be charged £80 but told there are no updates (from what ive read on here)

Does anyone have the necessary files? Any guidance or help would be appreciated

Can you try just a normal USB stick and see if you get the same result?

I know the Sync systems and iPod's in my experience haven't really played nice with each other!
