Sawtooth Tyre Wear

Featured Replies

I am running 2010 ford focus 1.8 zetec with sport pack I am currently running Fulda sport control tires 205/50 r17s and the fronts are wearing on the inside in a sawtooth pattern and an annoying drumming noise has just started in the last month.   Not overly impressed with them as the ride seems loads harder although they were silent for the first 10-15,000 miles.

Has anyone else experienced this with the Focus? I didn't have this issue with my previous set of tyres which were Goodyear NCT5's.  Any Ideas?  My previous ford focus used to wear the rear tires in this pattern which was annoying.

Yes it was down to bush wear so I got  new control arms/wish bones then defo needs tracked after that or the other side starts to wear. I would check all bushes and if not get it tracked

It's odd how this happens sometimes.   My Fiesta mk6.5 , original Uniroyal tyres on front were fine, Put new Barum (cheap) tyres on it, they did what you describe, when worn out I put Brdgestones on it and they were fine (without doing any work on suspension or tracking)

Think ill change the worn tires soon with some premium tires thinking of putting some Michelin's on it and get the tracking checked preferable by someone with a hunter machine. Cheers guys!
