Window issue

Featured Replies

Hi everyone,

Iv recently changed the battery in my focus and over the weekend discovered that the passanger window doesnt stay up unless I guess it by eye. The auto window down feature works fine but when I flick it to go up it goes up until it hits the top and then comes back down. When I try it manually by pulling the switch up one click it will go to the top but then go back down again. Iv been reading lots of posts about resetting the window but I have tried atleast 7 different methods, two of which were given by dealers, none of which have worked. Im sure if the one touch feature wasn't working I should be able to hold the window up by pulling the leave up.

Has anyone ever had an issue like this before where even holding the switch up the window still goes down?

Thanks for any help,

Shane

My appologies. My car is a 2008 1.6 petrol tc-vti (think thats the engine code) ghia pre facelift focus 5 door

I would try the old battery and see what happens. Was the new battery different from the old one?

That is a great idea v530 but unfortunately the old battery has been got rid of, did have a look for it. I'm not too sure I know the old one was a ford battery and this one isn't. There might of been a small difference in ampage but I'm not 100% sure of that

You could try disconnecting the battery again leave it for 5 minutes then reconnect it

then you need to lower each window in turn holding the button down for a second or two then raise the window holding the button again do this to all four windows and all should be good

Thanks Tango. I tried that yesterday and that didnt work. I went at it again today but disconnected it for over 20mins and that ended up resetting all the windows including the wonky one so I just did the procedure that was in the manual that came with the car and that seemed to of corrected them problem and now they all work properly as well as the holding the lock button down. Thanks guys for the imput :)

That's fine just glad to help

Darren
