Price of cam belt fitted

Featured Replies

I know this is very hard to answer but I need my cambelt done on my 2009 focus 1.6 petrol zetec.

i will get my auxiliary belts and water pump done at the same time.

I wondered what labour costs I should be looking at e.g how many hours should I be paying for?

Thanks for any feedback and information

Off hand I'm sure the book time for just the timing belt kit and belts is 2.9 hours? Waterpump probably adds half an hour or something. For all the extra cost, i would add on having the coolant replaced entirely as they will need to drain 50% of it to do the pump

Got a price for £345 fitted inc Vat for my cambelt, auxiliary belts, water pump and coolant change.

I reckon this is a pretty good price.

What do you reckon

Ps Local independent

The last one I done using a Dayco kit and genuine water pump (I always use a genuine pump where I can) and coolant come in around £160 parts so yeah probably about right if you say £50 an hour.

very good price.

ford dealers charge a standard £440 to supply + fit cambelt & water pump , add to that at least another £100 for  aux belts and coolant flush , its prob around £550

so 200 less than a franchise.

the savings will come from lower labour charges and business overheads for an indy garage , i'd bite their hand off at that price  :-)
