Speed camera recognition

Featured Replies

On my way to work there are 2 speed cameras- noticed today that both of them are marked on the sat nav with a exclamation mark in a red triangle. And also the sat nav said caution as I approached. Is this just coincidence or have we got speed camera recognition?

Not recognition, they are pre-programmed into the system.
The system won't notify you about mobile / newer cameras.

Is this just a sync 3 function or does sync 2 do the same?

It may just be sync 3. I have sync 3 and it certainly does it. Your question llo2006 suggests you may have sync 2 and I would guess you haven't experienced this on your sat nav.

Mine has sync 2 and you certainly get an audible warning "caution", don't know if the sat nav displays a warning triangle as for me the audible warning is sufficient.

If you want coverage of all cameras mobile and fixed get a Snooper Elite

I have Sync 2 and get the warning triangle. The "caution" message freaked me out until I worked out what it meant. I've now turned it off...

I only activate the verbal warning if I'm in an unfamiliar place.
Pity they don't have the ability to select a tone warning instead of the voice.

I have sync 2 and I've never had a warning before, where is it in the options so I can see if I can enable it?

I can't  find it in the nav menu, I will keep looking

Mine is certainly active. The voice just says “Caution” when I’m a few hundred yards from the camera. I’ll take a look and see how to activate / deactivate it.

When in Navigation, select MENU / NAVIGATION SETTINGS / NAVIGATION PREFERENCES and you’ll see Hazard Spot Warning. There is a pick list for OFF / VISUAL ONLY / VISUAL & CHIMES.

Off clearly gives no warning, visual only shows the warning sign ⚠️ on the map and visual & chimes shows the warning sign ⚠️ with the audible prompt.
