ford focus 1.8 help

Featured Replies

Hello ladies and gentlemen,

I wonder if anyone can help me with my ford focus mk2.5 1.8 petrol.

it has started to run a bit rough when idling after a long trip of 500 miles, and it seems to not be as responsive, there is also some vibration when idling every now and again, someone mentioned about cleaning the MAF/T-MAF sensor but can't find where it is located, i have watched videos where they spray carb cleaner onto it and replace it, someone also said to spray the carb cleaner into my air intake in short bursts while the engine is running, is this safe?

any help would be greatly appreciated

kind regards

dean

It's called a T MAP ( temperature and manifold absolute pressure ) sensor, it's located on the bottom left hand side of the inlet manifold.

Haven't changed mine (yet) it needs doing though, it's one bolt holding it on and a electrical connector.

thanks for the reply mate.

I'm gonna go and have a butchers see if i can find it, any idea about spraying the carb cleaner directly into the air intake while the engine is running?

No never tried that, but have sprayed carb cleaner into the throttle body and wiped it out.
