Cigarette Lighter Broken

Featured Replies

Hi all, I just bought a second hand ford focus and it is running great, the only problem is the cigarette lighter port is not working.  The auxiliary one is fine and it is not the fuse as I changed it out.  Its a 2009 model focus, how difficult would it be to fix this myself or how much would it cost to get it fixed by a professional.  Thanks for any help you can give.

easy enough to do yourself they just screw in, you`ll just need to unclip some of the trim to get to the underside of the ciggy lighter to unscrew it,  ebay or scrap yard would be you best place to look for a replacement, shouldn`t cost more than £10

it does seem very unlikely that the socket itself would be faulty, there's not much that can wrong with it. you need to get to the connectors behind it and check if there is voltage at the ends of the wires
