Focus ST engine noise

Featured Replies

Hi there, just joined the forum as I'm after a bit of advice. Just purchased a 2006 Mk2 Focus ST. Absolutely made up with car but starting to have a few teething problems with it. One issue is a squealing coming from the engine. I have noticed this when I start the car first thing in the morning, it last about a minute or so then it quietens down. I notice it a few times whilst driving and noticed it more when the engine is under load. I did some research and found a video on YouTube with a guy who had the same problem as me and he pinpointed it to a loose manifold. Took the garage today and they couldn't find anything wrong with the manifold. Could anyone help or give sone suggestions as to what the problem could be as it's starting to become frustrating.

Thanks

Gary

Could be a loose belt or a beaing.

Get someone to test it with an automotive stethoscope to pinpoint the problem.
