Got my car back from the local garage today to diagnose lack of power, slight rough idle and poor mpg. Diagnostic machine showed fuel injector, fuel pump and throttle position faults. The garage says that both the fuel pump and injector1 should not fail on a 2012 focus tdci with only 35000 on the clock. Also the car does not allow me to fill the tank with diesel over 3/4 way. Garage says it is to do with the fuel system but can't pinpoint exactly what's needed to fix the problems. Is this a Ford garage job do people think? Any advice i shall be grateful.

    did they tell you what fault codes showed up on there diagnostic machine, sounds like a garage who dont want to know or dont have much clue how to diagnose. 

    when was fuel filter last changed? premature blockage is common. recomended change interval is 37.5 k or 3 years but quite often they become blocked much sooner than that.

    not unusual for an injector to fail giving poor idle and lack of power on that age of focus.

    fuel pump failure is rare.

    as for fueling the vehicle, has it just started giving filling up issues?
