Hi maybe someone can help me. 

I now have a mk2 2007 focus 5dr auto style hatchback, which honest John tells me was manufactured between 2004 and 2007, there was a facelift in 2008 - I don't have the facelift model I have the old one. 

BUT  I do have an oval shaped red glow display stereo. 

When looking on eBay for a replacement stereo they always have a picture of my stereo, saying "if this is what you have now you have a mk2.5 facelift focus and our product is compatible" 

But I don't, I really don't. I definitely have an old style mk2 2007 pre facelift focus. 

Which leaves me not knowing what stereo to buy. 

Can anyone shed any light on why or how I would have the "new" 2008 mk2.5 stereo in a mk2 car?

And what stereo would I need to buy that would fit my car?

Some of the later mk2's did get the oval radio if built just as the facelift model was being introduced.
Either that or the previous owner fitted a facelift radio themselves (an easy job which I did to my previous car myself).

In 2007 Ford performed an interior facelift on the Focus MK2.

The biggest differences were the new design oval shaped radio and the red illumination of all switches and instrument cluster.
