Mk3 Titanium X ambient lighting problem

Featured Replies

Is there any way of resetting the ambient lighting? I prefer the blue lighting but when I put that on, the light behind the cup holders lights up a bright pink. All of the other colours match up to what they should be, just annoying the colour I prefer is the one that isn't working.

Thanks

Anyone?

Hi, sounds like it could be a software glitch, you try disconnecting the battery, of course you will lose all stored info, you may need hi-fi security code (if your hi-fi has a code). Or if you find which fuse supplies the relevant control module just remove the fuse for 5 - 10 minutes. If disconnecting the power supply fails I guess you would have to ask a dealer.

It could be that the blue led of the cluster in the cupholders has gone.  Usually (anyone please feel free to correct me) colour change leds actually have 3 leds in them, red green and blue and they are mixed (with voltages obviously) to get the desired colour.

If this is the case, the resulting colour could be what you picked, minus the blue.  Try setting the colours to the darkest, bluest blue and see if its still the same (probably will be off or very dark).  Also try other colours (eg. full red) and see if the cupholder light matches with the others.   If so, then its probably the led unit.  If not, then yeah it sounds like a voltage error, possibly caused by software or possibly still a faulty light.
