Clutch Squeal on 2015 Focus 1.5 TDCi

Featured Replies

Bit of a strange one, and I'm hoping its not what I think and ideally will be covered by warranty.

When pulling away it sounds like a metal on metal squealing sound. I don't have any clutch slip, and I'm pretty convinced it's not the brakes sticking.

Any ideas?

Hi, I had the same noise on my Galaxy. It turned out to be the dreaded DMF, had to have a new starter as well because I put off getting it repaired.

Surely the DMF on a 2015 shouldn't be going already? Fine I've almost done 40,000 miles but even so! This is exactly what I thought could be the problem from the off.

My 2012 makes a squeal sometimes - sure I've read a thread somewhere with lots of people finding this issue. I have no slip or judder and it drives fine so I am just leaving it.

Interesting. Seeing as mine is under warranty I might as well get them to fix it, if it is knackered.
