Hi everyone

I'm new at this so bear with me.

My son has a 2001 focus and I'm in need of some repair advice.

Any mechanics out there that could help I would greatly appreciate it.

He left his hood off after a small fender bender and it rained on the open motor. now it will not run very well and kills when you start to move and when you do get it going there is little or no power.

Any ideas out there?

    Hi Paul, not sure this is in the correct place in all honesty it may be moved by a mod. But I'd say check battery is holding charge, check fuse box for any water ingress and lastly take your spark plugs out one by one and look for signs of water. Hope this helps.

    has it all dried out or are you trying whilst it is still wet? have you tried a good dose of wd40 all over the spark plug leads?

    can't remember what the air filter is like on these. could the air filter element be sodden with water?
