Flexi pipe

Hi everyone!

Recently had an mot done (and passed) had an advisory for slight blow on exhaust. It is blowing at the flexi pipe on the end of the CAT that joins the rest of the system. I have been told that it comes as part of the CAT, is this correct or is it possible to get just the flexi pipe?

Regards

you can but these flexi repair sections. I am not saying that one is correct for your car but it shows the type of thing.

Obviously you need to cut the old pipe in the correct place which is probably pretty difficult without removing it from the car

Thanks for the reply!

I thought that repair sections were available, but I dont really have the facilities to take system off the car, garage told me that after taking into account labour costs it probably wouldn,t cost that much more to replace the whole CAT??

best bet would be to find someone who specialises in exhaust repair/manufacture. I had one done on the mrs car 3-4 years ago by friends of mine who own this very business type, still good to this day and saved a couple hundred quid - not to mention replacement exhausts are usually garbage.

that'll be best option i reckon. from memory you don't have much material to play with on your exhaust for a clamp on flexi section so it'll need welding on.
