Rear shocks help escort mk6 rs2000

Featured Replies

Hi guys my old beauty escort mk6 rs2000 is needing new shocks and I've found them but there's 2 options to pick from shortened or normal what do I go for?

Hi stevenG89

im sure this will depend on if you have the car lowered or not. if you put short springs on standard shocks you alway have a loose fit and can lead to a bad situation, I have witnessed this with a friend of mine not nice.

i do have a set of brand new shocks in the shed and believe there a shorter pair but can't be specific, I will get them out photograph them if you might be interested

cheers chris

Hi chris

I only bought the car in October and have no idea if it's lowered or not, the car does seem to sit quite low although I've no idea if this is how it came standard or not? I can put a pic up if it helps and I've found rear shocks online for under 100 quid brand new thanks tho

Being the escort RS 2000 it will be lowered from factory over the normal escort or the SI etc.I don't know by how much.
