coilovers or uprated struts and lowering springs?

Featured Replies

Now before anyone mentions it, i know cheap coilovers are not amazing hah.

The question is if they would be better than getting uprated shocks and lowering springs.

Only looking to spend a few hundred on these was just looking for recommendations and opinions.

im old skool so i'd go for uprated shocks + matched springs

i'll leave the coil over kits for the kids in skinny jeans & baseball caps......

Exactly right lol, when you have your kit fitted I would as the car will be lowered an sit differently from standard have the suspension set up, preferably  an all corner set up this will mean for better handling as the angles and steering geometry  will be right and your tyres wont scrub  then I've seen an all corner set up for abought £95 (if I remember right) for the sake of a bit extra its worth doing right.

they are bog standard shocks that will offer no handling improvement over what you already have on the car

to get the full benefits you really need a full kit where the shock pistons are shortened to compensate for the drop in ride height , and the damping rate is matched to the spring compression

which basically means a kit where shocks & springs are sold together , like on the demon tweeks link i posted.........
