How to play music from SD card

Featured Replies

Hi chaps, currently on holiday in Turkey, and I'm having the entire "now that's what I call music" library put into an SD card.

Apart from using the aux lead and my phone, is there another way to play these SD cards using a plug-in device that plugs into the head unit. My head unit is the standard Ford 6000 unit without Bluetooth, car built 2010.

I've also seen the devices that plugs into the 12volt socket and transmits an FM signal via the head unit and through the speakers, are these any good?

Any thoughts or suggestions lads 👍 thanks in advance Chris.

Does the Focus not have a USB port? If it does you can get USB SD card adaptors and just plug it in to the USB port. Never tried this scenario in my Mondeo so I can't say that it will definately work.

No haven't got a usb port, as far as I'm aware anyway.

There is no quick solution for you unless you go for that FM transmiter which will give you a very bad sound quality.

One solution is this OEM Car Radio for Ford 6000 CD MP3 which has mp3 capabilities and an USB connection on the backside

Secound solution is an original navigation for Ford Focus

Third solution is an adapter for the ford 6000 cd unit:

And of course there are a very large choice of aftermarket units that has all from navigation to bluetooth capabilities, touchscreen and more.

hope I could help

Thanks for the advice mate, I think I'm going to try the FM transmitter route for the sake of £11.99 if it doesn't work then I've not lost load's of cash.

The one I'm going to get is the nulaxy km19.
