Hi all,

 

first time poster here. 

I own a Ford Focus 65 plate -36000 miles . I'm on options and I have just signed to swap the car back in for a new one.

literally since signing the paperwork I've noticed that when I start the car up it shakes / shudders for approx 20 seconds . The shuddering stops after that and it runs ok. 

I checked the oil it seemed a little low so I put more oil in . I checked the water and this also seemed a little below the min. I replaced this too. 

It has continued to do this shuddering when I start it ( only the first start up of the day) and today, I started it up and the engine malfunction light flashed on and then went off once the shuddering stopped . 

Any ideas what this could be? 

I'm hopefully getting the new one in a weeks time but I'm worried now that this one isn't going to last me the week???

Petrol or Diesel? Not sure on petrol but on Diesel shuddering became a characteristic when my fuel filter needed changing, suppose on petrol spark plugs?

Petrol ....

You think i will make it another week? I really don't want to be throwing money into this car seeing as it's going back v soon??
