Tow bar wiring

Just fitted a tow bar and wiring to mt 2015 Ford Focus Estate using Ford parts. i now find I can not get the towing socket to work on a trailer board. Do I need to need to have it setup before the system will work, look at the instructions it reads like it should  out out of the box. Or is it I have got a Faulty Module. i rechecked all the wiring which is correct. anh help please.

    the tow bar module needs switching on via central car configuration. preferably at a ford dealer using there diagnostic tool(ids) or probably switch it on using an elm327 adapter on a laptop with foccuus software or forscan software.
    dealer will probably charge 1 hrs labour for a 15 min job.
