You will need a relay then pal. They turn on with the engine off, and then when you start the engine the HIDs go out, is that right?

I tried them the other way and they dont light up, when engine is off they are fine but as soon as i start up they flicker then go off.

Its something to do with having led drls but not sure why really.

No they are 35w ones had them about 6 years maybe the problem is them being old style ballasts

I'm sticking with using a relay direct to the battery so that it gets more power, you could try with a resistor but I don't think that will work. It sounds like because the the lights aren't drawing the same current as your Halogen bulbs the CANbus system senses this and stops any power at all getting to the bulbs. A relay would solve that problem by drawing power straight from the battery when the lights were on.
I assume your DRLs are still working?

Just read your comment about the age of the ballasts. With that in mind I'd say maybe it is time to get the newer style ballasts with built in decoders. Tech is changing all the time and they are probably outdated and not compatible with newer CANbus systems.

I'd read they don't have Canbus, but got a message saying Canbus error when I tried LED indicator lights

Finally got some time to properly fit the kit, engine on, lights on. Canbus decoders worked so looks good. 😉

Didnt realise how yellow the led drls look until now lol.
