Focus 2009 Estate water ingress

Featured Replies

Hi Guys

Not sure if this is a common problem but my estate is getting really wet in the back boot area ? to the point where the back floor mat is soaked and the spare wheel well had about 1/2 inch of water sloshing about in it :-(

Any ideas what could be the issue all door seals look ok and there is no obvious signs of where it could be coming in please help if possible

I’m suffering similarly with mine. So far I’ve added sealant to all of the panel seams where the roof meets the body above the tailgate, and all of the hinge seams too.

There’s also a seam under the roof rail cover that can leak. I’ve forced a little sealant in there using a lollipop stick.

Also found the wiring harness to the rear light was pinched in the foam seal, possibly letting water in.

This has improved my leak, now only have about an egg cup full in the wheel well, not sure if that’s old water leaching out.

Hope this helps.
