monkey×wrench
Hi, first post here, greetings to all I'm having trouble with me old mk4 - clunking noises coming from the front. So i started by changing the anti-roll bar bushings (real PITA with all the bracket bending) and droplinks, because i could rock the arb by hand. One of the droplinks had play. So this eliminated about 66% of the "clunks". But the other day when i popped the hood i found this: I'm sure it was not there when i was doing the bushings (as i was surprised how much the rubber bush (in the picture) squeaked against the chassis, while moving the steering wheel with the car jacked). So with, the mounts were touching the chassis for sure, but then when i dropped the car, apparently it somehow lifted the top weight&bushing, by about 5mm or 1/5 of an inch. Could this be a sign of a collapsed / disintegrated strut mounts that are supposed to be under the "cup"? Many thanks for any info!
