Hello!

I need a little help guys, I hope you can help!

I have a MK3 2012.06. 1.0 benzin 100hp Focus. The engine is broken so I have to replace it. I found a good one near to me but this has not the same motor number.

My motor code is: M2DA 100hp and the other is the stronger M1DA 125hp. My question is, do they have difference or I can replace the engine with the stronger M1DA.

Do you have any informtion why it wouldnt work? As I see the two engine is 100% same, and they have different software.

    The 125 HP M1DA engine is not identical to the 100 HP M2DA engine.

    Apart from the software the 125 HP has a different clinder head and depending on production date also a different turbo. Next to this there are probably some other differences. However to do a full comparison you need to know the exact part numbers of both engines. The engine code alone is not enough.

    Note that the flywheel is also different. The M1DA has a dual mass flywheel which is combined with the 6-speed Ford/Getrag B6 gearbox. The M2DA has a single mass flywheel which is combined with the old Ford/Getrag IB5 gearbox.

    I know, but I was showing the origin of the word (why some countries using variations of that word for petrol), but I accept I did not explain that
