discs Size

Featured Replies

how can you tell what size discs are on your car front ones, car is 1.6 TDCI mk 2  08 reg been looking on posts and some say 278 mm and when I look on euro parts saying 300mm,will both fit still or do I need right size thanks ,be  doing  front discs and brakes

You definetely need the correct size brake discs. 300 mm brake discs do not fit on 278 mm cliper brackets (and vice versa).

The Focus MK2/MK2.5 with the 1.6 TDCI engine should have the smaller 278 mm front brake discs. These are combined with 265 mm rear disc or rear drum brakes.

However before ordering parts it is a good idea to take a look and measure the disc diameter.

ok cheers mate will it make a different if its a facelift model

No, as Wilco said the 300mm discs were fitted to the 1.8 and 2.0 litre diesel and 2.0 litre petrol, not sure about the estate versions as they can carry extra load and were fitted with beefier brakes (300mm front and 280mm rears) i think.
