PO400 fault code help

Featured Replies

Hi.

My engine management light has come on and my fault code reader has given me fault code PO400. I believe that this is something to do with the EGR valve. I have a  Ford Focus 55 plate with a 2.0L petrol Duratec engine but have no idea where the valve is located or what I can do to  possibly clean or replace the valve.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

David.

If it's the same as mk3 Mondeo with that engine, the EGR is located at the top, front, right hand side as you're looking at it.  In front of the coil pack.

Depends what the actual fault is as to what needs doing to it.  You could try to remove and clean with some sort of degreaser/solvent and a small brush/scraper.  Beware it also houses a heat exchanger so you will lose some coolant when removing it.
