Lowering Springs

Featured Replies

Hi folks, I have a 1.0 ecoboost st-line focus anyone know of any lowering springs that would give around a 20mm drop. I think the st-line is already about 10mm lower... Thanks

The ST-line has the Ford sport suspension. This type of suspension has different springs and shocks than the standard suspension which make the car a bit stiffer. Ford does not specify a different ride height for the sport suspension. However in real life the sport suspension is known to be about 5 to 10 mm lower as the standard suspension (the actual difference can differ between engine types and body types) .

The reduced ride height specified by lowering spring manufacturers is based on the standard suspension. If the car already has the Ford sport suspension the reduced ride height will be less as specified.

Ford offers the optional Eibach sport suspension (this is basically an Eibach Pro-Kit). This type of suspension is available as an official (approved) Ford accessoire. This type of suspension has a specified reduced ride height of 25 mm and uses the original (either standard or sport suspension) shocks. The Eibach suspension makes the car a bit more stiff but still comfortable. This suspension improves the handling of the car quite a lot.

As said, any quoted drop will be relative to a car of factory "standard" height as opposed to that of a "sports" model.

Any spring set from a known manufacturer will be fine
